China (Tianjin) Pilot Free Trade Zone

Being the first free trade zone in northern area, the China (Tianjin) Pilot Free Trade Zone (hereinafter referred to as “Tianjin Free Trade Zone”) is committed to developing in line with Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. On the basis of learning and copying Shanghai experiences, the Tianjin Free Trade Zone will explore trade facilitation and investment system reform, and proactively develop modern service and hi-end manufacturing industries by integrating Tianjin’s advantages. With system innovation, the zone will also make contributions to real economy and the Bohai Economic Circle, creating features of shipping taxation and shipping finance.

Scopes of Implementation

Tianjin Free Trade Zone includes the Tianjin Port Area, Tianjin Airport Area and the central business district of Binhai New Area, occupying 119.9 km².

Functional Positioning

Regarding system innovation as its core task and availability to be copied and promoted as the basic requirement, the Tianjin Free Trade Zone strives to become a high-level platform opened to the world for the collaborative development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei; to become the first implementation district for national reform and opening, and a pilot area of system innovation; and to become a high standard free trade zone opened to the world.

Division of Functions

• Tianjin Port Area: Mainly developing modern service industries like shipping logistics, international trade and financial leasing
• Tianjin Airport Area: Focusing on the development of high-end manufacturing industries like aviation and aerospace, equipment manufacturing and new generation information technology, and productive service industries such as research and development and design, shipping logistics
• The central business district of Binhai New Area: Highlighting the development of modern service industry with financial innovation orientation
